Started as a sideshow blog for Vegan Mofo, the Vegan Month of Food, we now enter an awkward adolescence. This is the sister blog to vegpedlr, and yes, I am the real, authentic vegpedlr, do not let alternate spellings mislead you. This blog focuses on recipes and cooking techniques. The goal is to find the best plant based recipes to put on the training table and in the pockets of vegan athletes everywhere.

  1. I’m not a vegan athlete, but I’m certainly into plant-based recipes. I think your blog is great! Celeste 🙂

I’m glad I stumbled upon your blogs. My husband and I are both athletic (he’s a competitive athlete, I just like to ride my bike all day, no need for a medal ). I was looking to Engine 2 for post work out eats (not finding anything to specific to being a vegan athlete there) and there you were! Thanks for all the great info!

Thanks for stopping by! I don’t understand why it’s hard to find more vegan athletes, I know we’re out there. Maybe everyone is too busy training, racing, cooking and eating to write about it? As for post workout eats, what works best for me is to time a workout so that I finish within an hour of a meal. My recovery eats are called “lunch” and “dinner.” As for Engine 2, considering Rip Esselstyn’s pro triathlon background, I too would like to see more content directed towards athletes.
